Overview

A cogeneration power plant generates electricity and steam (or heat) simultaneously by driving a steam turbine with steam generated by a boiler.

POSCO E&C has performed the engineering, procurement and construction of cogeneration power plant producing massive power and steam for the purpose of using in industry mills
and district heating.

Successful project completion has increased project knowhow in the design and construction of cogeneration power generation.

    N.9 Congeneration Thermal Power Plant

    Surplus by-product gas(BFG, COG, LDG) generated by the increased production of crude steel at Gwangyang Steelworks is used for this plant as renewable fuel. This cogeneration thermal power plant contributes to the environment protection and also generates and supplies 100MW power and 45ton/hr steam.
