- POSCO E&C provides medical aid for remote villages in Vietnam and offered medical benefits for about 1,350 residents
POSCO E&C (CEO Chan-gun Han) announced that it has provided medical aid for medically disadvantaged areas of Quang Ngai Province in Vietnam from November 22nd to 24th with Inha University Hospital and the Salvation Army Korea Territory.
POSCO E&C provided treatments in family medicine, rehabilitation medicine, surgery, and dentistry as well as medicine and medical supplies for about 1,350 residents in Ba Dinh commune, Ba Dong commune and Ba To commune located in Ba To District, Quang Ngai Province in Vietnam.
For dental care, POSCO E&C provided 400 elementary school students in Ba Dinh commune with education on fluoride treatment for oral hygiene for healthy dental care and prevention of tooth decay.
This medical endeavor was carried out in Quang Ngai Province near the construction site for the Da Nang-Quang Ngai Expressway led by POSCO E&C, and it acted like an oasis for residents in remote villages that could not receive any medical benefits.
In addition, 12 students studying Korean at the University of Foreign Language Studies (UFLS) of the University of Danang participated in medical translation and provided help for residents.
“I would like to thank POSCO E&C and Korean medical staff for providing medical treatment for residents neglected from medical benefits in Vietnam, and the enthusiastic activities for social contribution despite the tight construction project schedule really moved the hearts of Vietnam citizens,” said People’s Committee Chairman of Ba To District, Tran Trung Triet.
POSCO E&C will continue to more actively carry out medical aid for Vietnam in cooperation with medical institutions in Incheon.
