Taegisan Wind Energy project was to build an onshore wind power plant in Pyeongchang-gun and Hoengseong-gun of Gangwon-do.
The project implementers are POSCO E&C and Eurus Japan, a company specializing in wind power development. Jointly invested by the two companies, this is the first onshore wind power development project promoted by a large-scale construction company.
With the unit capacity of wind power turbines being 2 MW, this project requires the installation of 20 onshore turbines on a mountain surface. Having established Taegisan Wind Energy, a special purpose company, POSCO E&C and Eurus Japan entered into a contract for site use along with the financing, power supply, permit, and EPC execution agreements with Korea Forest Service. Based on this performance, POSCO E&C secured a foundation for entry to the offshore wind power market.
Thorough cooperation with the Infrastructure Business Division, we are currently contacting a number of developers.
