Seagate Thailand Plant produces hard disk drive (HDD), a large-size data storage device. Seagate, established in 1979 in the U.S., is the world’s second HDD manufacturer. The plant is located in Korat, which is 230 km to the northeast of Bangkok.
With the technological power for industrial plant construction, POSCO E&C built this five-story plant with gross floor area of approximately 65,000㎡ including an ultra-pure clean room. POSCO E&C has secured the top-tier technological power and construction ability by completing a number of high-tech industrial plant construction works in Korea and abroad.
The construction performances include building mobile phone production, LED manufacturing, LCD film manufacturing, and semiconductor plants. Based on the competencies secured, POSCO able to win a contract for a high-tech semiconductor plant from a multinational company in Thailand.
