On March 29, POSCO E&C launched the ‘9th Group of Happybuilders,’ college student volunteers in the Songdo Building in Incheon.

Happybuilders were founded in 2011 so that POSCO E&C can play the role of a ‘corporate citizen who will grow together,’ and it’s in its 9th year this year.

For the 9th Group of Happybuilders, 32 college students were selected, who have talent in singing, dancing, Taekwondo, traditional Korean dance, and IT, and starting with the launching ceremony, they will engage in various social contribution activities at home and abroad by the end of this year.

The volunteers will participate in overseas volunteer activities, such as Korean culture experience and education and cultural exchange festivals, and domestic volunteer activities, such as formation of a construction education academy for middle school students and fire prevention and residential environment improvement activities.

Over the years, Happybuilders have been engaged in overseas volunteer activities in 12 countries where POSCO E&C is present, including Vietnam, India, Chile and Poland.

“I am very happy that my small talent has been able to help someone,” said Seon-yeong Park (23, female), who was selected for the 9th Group of Happybuilders. “I will be sure to participate in volunteer activities with a sense of responsibility."
